Hacking Rhetoric

Weekly Blog Post

In class on Wednesday, we talked more about how to make an effective argument.  We already learned skills such as when to use logical fallacies, so yesterday we focused on the target of the argument: the audience.  I noticed that there are many times when I am writing papers, especially persuasive papers, where I am not taking the audience into account.  I need to start thinking about who the audience of my paper is, so I know what direction to take my writing.  In class, we learned about different people and whether they were for or against government sponsored hacking.  We then made up our own people.  My group created a college student who was discovering problems with her company, and needed to be able to hack information from her employees.  It was very nice to be able to learn something and then meet with a small group to utilize what we learned.  I look forward to the next group work in class!
